Diploma in Mining Technology

Course Overview
The program is designed to provide the mining Industry with competent and safety conscious Technicians with a broad grounding in the theory and practical aspects of science, engineering and ancillary disciplines relating to mining. Further, the program will equip students with knowledge and skills that will add value in the mining related operations in the region by highlighting best practices in areas of relevance to the mining industry, including issues of sustainable development.

Course Structure

This is a modular program examined by college with demonstrated competences in the industry. Diploma course consists of eight (8) terms, each three (3) months long. A minimum KCSE overall Grade of C (Plain) or equivalent, with passes in mathematics and any science subject is required to enroll in the program. Examinations are taken at the conclusion of every term, and students must pass the examination to advance to the next term. At the conclusion of the program, students are required to complete three (3) months industrial attachment.

Minimum Entry Requirement is KCSE D+ (Plus) or equivalent. Examinations are taken at the conclusion of every term, and students must pass the examination to advance to the next term. At the conclusion of the program, students are required to complete three (3) months industrial attachment.
